Thankful

I have so much to be thankful for. Quite truthfully, I ought to be thankful for everything. I have good health, and so do my children. We are warm and clothed and fed. We have a church that teaches the truth and cares about us. My husband has a new job that he really loves. My husband and I both grew up in Christian homes with a Christian education, and we have the opportunity to homeschool our children to ensure that they receive a godly education. We have friends who love us and lend an ear or helping hand as the occasion warrants. We have a God and Savior Who sees that all our needs are supplied.
I am thankful for the awareness of all my blessings. I am glad that I can see and know how much God has done for me. May I never forget that even if I were clothed in rags, huddling in the cold, riddled with disease and bereft of my loved ones, even then I could be thankful. Thankful for a God Who never leaves us comfortless or forsaken. A God Who has made me His child forever. No earthly trial could ever make me forget the blessing of eternal life. I want to live in that thankfulness every day.
