We found another house a couple weeks ago. The owner was on vacation, and we were busy with the holidays, so we haven't done much so far other than look at it a few times. There are a lot of things we like about this house, but this time the drawback is the price. The owner is asking a lot, and we are not willing to go that high. Tomorrow we plan to write up an offer. We are placing the price in God's hands. We know that the house needs some insulation and a new roof, so we have to leave ourselves room. We have been praying over this, and feel at peace with offering what we can reasonably afford, and letting it rest. If this is our house, God will make a way, and we will know it.
We are very thankful for our brief thaw, which cleared the roof of snow, enabling my dad to look at it and see that it needed to be replaced. It is about to snow again, which would cover it right back up. God is good! I would not have wanted to go into this thinking that the roof was fine.
Prayers concerning this would be greatly appreciated. Buying a home is serious business, and this is our first time. Thank you!
