There are different kinds of sorrow. Some are mixed with regret. Some are mixed with pain. Some are mixed with pity. Some are mixed with remorse or repentance. And sometimes sorrow is elusive. Sometimes it stays undefined, in the shadows, felt but not expressed, a presence unrecognized.
Sorrow brings no joy, yet without it our joy would never seem so full, so vibrant.
I am thankful for times of sorrow, for they bring me closer to my Lord, the "Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief."
