It has been nearly three months since I wrote here. Life has been very busy. God has been a very present help to us throughout the move-in process.
Our new house is beginning to feel like home. Most rooms have been painted, new curtains put up, furniture arranged, furniture built.
I'm tired. It would be pretense to say anything else. August is the busiest month of the year, with garden things coming ready - veggies and fruits to put up and pickles and jams to be made. I am happy to now have a compost bin set up for weeds and kitchen scraps, and now that one of my daughter's pet bunnies has moved in with us, she gets some of the scraps, too. It feels good to not throw so much away. Now we need to get some chickens to eat our plate scrapings, and we will be all set.:-)
I am incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to live here. There is so much space for the children to play, both inside and out, and so much space for my husband to do all of the woodworking and automobile maintenance that he has always wanted to do. I don't know if I could even list how many projects he has completed just since we moved here!
We are enjoying having the room to be hospitable, having friends and family over all the time. We are no longer afraid of asking people to drop by anytime. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to say "come by anytime!" and mean it wholeheartedly! We have plenty of seating and space now, and even extra room for overnight guests. We are grateful to be the stewards of so much.
God is always good to us. I am thankful to be called His child.
