Since it was such a beautiful day today, we spent much of it outside. It was wonderful to be able to let the children expend so much energy in a positive way. It was good for me, too.
I felt nostalgic at the park, wondering many more times we might go there again before we move. It's a very nice park, but we will soon be living much closer to another one that is nearly as nice.
A goodbye is always a hello. There isn't truly a void, there is always a replacement. It might not be welcome; it might not be nearly the same; it might even be totally different. But always when we say goodbye to something, something else takes its place.
Soon we will say goodbye to this house and exchange it for a new one. We will have a new town, a new library, new parks, and new neighbors. New blessings, and new challenges.
Sometimes when we resist change, it is because we have forgotten that every time we say goodbye, we must say hello to something new.
Welcome the changes, the seasons of life. I can welcome all the changes life brings because I trust the One Who never changes. He is always the same, and He is the One Who brings me the new opportunities, the new friends, the new blessings, and He has a reason for every goodbye.
